ANN COULTER: OBAMA WAS SELECTED, NOT ELECTED (2000 Redoux? Gore won!)

After nearly eight years of having to listen to liberals crow that Bush was "selected, not elected," this is a shocking about-face. Apparently unaware of the new party line that the popular vote amounts to nothing more than warm spit, just last week HBO ran its movie "Recount," about the 2000 Florida election, the premise of which is that sneaky Republicans stole the presidency from popular vote champion Al Gore. (Despite massive publicity, the movie bombed, with only about 1 million viewers, so now HBO is demanding a "recount.")

The only difference is: Hillary has a much stronger argument than Gore ever did (and Hillary's more of a man than Gore ever was).
Here's our girl with another brilliant commentary.

Ah, irony. When you live in the bizzaro world of democrat politics. Who in their right mind would entrust the government of the greatest country in the world to these people? Oh, I know. Nevermind.

Consequently, under both the law and common sense, the famed "popular vote" is utterly irrelevant to presidential elections. It would be like the winner of "Miss Congeniality" claiming that title also made her "Miss America." Obviously, Bush might well have won the popular vote, but he would have used a completely different campaign strategy.

Good Point by Ann!

Our Framers never wanted a Democracy, which was a better point.

The parallels are striking aren’t they?

In the case of a presidential election, there are actually 50 separate state elections (and 1 in the District of Columbia) to choose electors. The electors chosen in each state actually choose our president.

In the case of the nomination process, there are 50+ separate procedures (elections or caucuses) to choose delegates. The delegates to the convention are the ones who actually choose the nominee.

So if the Democrats want to be intellectually honest, at least in the future, they will conduct a nationwide primary election and choose their nominee that way. Anything less would violate their sacred principle of one man(or woman) / one vote.

(Don't fret Democrats: According to five liberals on the Supreme Court, you do have a right to sodomy and abortion!)

That's gonna leave a mark.

While we are ranting about liberals changing the rules...have you noticed how “racial slur and hate speech” have new definitions or at least the penalties have changed for liberals? (i.e. Wright and Pfleger) Is anyone besides myself tired of hearing the HUD/AD Council message repeated daily on conservative talk radio? This ad implies and assumes that only white men and women practice housing discrimination. How about a new ad with a white trying to rent or apply for an job from a person of color ? We have been indoctrinated about the “white privilege” of “Graham Wellington” enough already.

So if the Democrats want to be intellectually honest...

That is the last thing the dems want. Hence, the "Superdelegate."

What about caucuses? Every nominee is selected rather than elected. Caucuses count in that process. You can't just throw them out and argue that your candidate deserves the nomination because she's "won the popular vote" -- a very dubious assumption because those Michigan and Florida primaries weren't supposed to count, so other candidates didn't campaign there. And what's all this "our brave Hillary," "our plucky Hillary" stuff?

You gotta go easy on Ann

Hilliary was her girl, she campaigned long and hard for her.

Coulter didn't take it too well it seems.

We may have to do an intervention...

Hillary’s math is all wrong. She may have won the popular vote in 50 states, but Obama won by a landslide in the other 7.

Don't count ALL the votes! Our boy, golden boy doesn't need 'em. Its time to throw Hillary under the bus!

Go here:

and read weegee’s #8 post
“Barack Hussein Obama was SELECTED not ELECTED, June 2nd, 2008.”
which was in response to my #5 post
“History was made yesterday and not one newspaper in the country reported on it:
JUNE 3, 2008 DEMOCRATS FINALLY ADMIT THAT THE POPULAR VOTE DOES NOT COUNT”
