The reason why I believe we have to get away from blame is that 1: It solves nothing, it creates no solution. 2: Half the people out there want to kill this country anyway, so what would it matter if we determined and assigned blame?

Consider for example the brouhaha over who is to “blame” for the subprime/mortgage/credit fiasco. (good article: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/05/30/AR2008053002568.html?referrer=emailarticle&ref=patrick.net)

Look, this is already way past the attention span of a Britney-based electorate. Generically, the blame exercise is ultimately nothing more than a diversion.

The Mexican border is threatening to become a portal to import worldwide narco-terror, ultra violence, and even a gateway for the infiltration of Mideast types to every city of size in the US, and will IMO ultimately become an excuse for an ever-larger expansion of government control of every facet of economic life in the US. http://www.bordermovie.com/ was discussed on Geo Noory’s program last night; and this ain’t no UFO stuff, this is real, frightening, this is a major and well-armed and infinitely funded threat to US sovereignty and security by any rational measure.

Meanwhile, Congress debates steroids in pro sports and hauls oil execs in front of committees who know utterly NOTHING about oil markets, not to mention the most fundamental laws of economics, in search of some party upon whom to lay blame. We don’t need blame, we need a border wall built, we need concrete and steel pipes and panels and struts funded, planted into the ground, and patrolled. We need to drill our own oil and build nuke plants regardless of whose fault it is that we’re not doing so.

This is happening in concert with this utterly appalling Lieberman cap-and-trade bill now before Congress. I used to have some respect for Lieberman, but good Lord, the very fact that Barbara Boxer, easily the second or third stupidest member of Congress, supports and indeed wants to expand this abomination should be proof positive of its total absurdity. Lieberman is either jealous of the tens of millions his old pal Gore is raking in peddling this snake oil, or he is just another raving socialist, drooling at the control he thinks he will be able to seize and wield. It doesn’t matter, the debate is, again, just a diversion from achieving ANY kind of solution. Frankly, I am just sickened by the whole thing. Blame will not solve any of these problems.

You’re preaching to the choir. When I heard Boxer liken the Lieberman bill to leaving a child locked in a car, I about lost it. If brains were dynamite, she couldn’t blow her nose. The fact that people this stupid get elected tells me that we really should have a current events test before we allow people to vote.
