Gr-r-r-r ... don't get me started on TxDOT. These clowns could give the Feds lessons on how to pi$$ off money. They go thru all the motions that are required by law, public meetings etc, and then do exactly what they want to do. The latest here in the San Antonio area is toll roads. Lots of our roads should have more lanes, but these are no plans to install more lanes unless they are tolled lanes! TxDOT says they are out of money but spends millions on media programs that try to sway public opinion to accepting toll roads, millions that could be filing potholes and widening main roads. We don't need toll roads; we need roads that have bridges and limited access so traffic is not stopped every mile by a traffic light! And, as there are no elected positions in TxDOT, there is damn little ability to apply pressure to see things the public’s way. Gr-r-r-r ...

Who claims that they have? TXDOT? They're not even on the same planet as far as following anything required by any law. They are so out of compliance with the Feds for one thing, it's not even funny. TXDOT's concept of an EIS (Evironmental Impact Statement) are public meetings - not a dime spent on research for data as required by law. That stupidity is about to unwind right in their faces.

Actually, this has been in planning for years, courtesy of Hardberger and crew. The big problem with their plan is that there is less traffic on the major thoroughfares due to high gas prices, hence- no need for toll lanes.
