“Well no he’s not. He’s not the nominee till the delegates actually vote at their convention.”
How could CNN, NBC, and all the other networks possibly make a mistake like that? Someone should let them know, so they don’t keep accidentally saying he’s the nominee. Although I’m surprised they don’t already know it since the convention happens every 4 years. It’s not as if they have a *motive* to lie about him being the nominee. Surely not.
Journalists are getting very sloppy in their accurateness nowadays in current America.
They proclaimed Obama the nominee and his name has not even been placed into nomination. The same with John McCain, he is NOT the GOP nominee, not a soul in the National Republican Party in Convention has even voted for him yet.
That makes me wonder about the RNC. They publicly proclaimed on their website after McCain's victory speech, that McCain WAS NOW the GOP nominee, and exclusively promoted him as such on their website, even though there was no concession by one more candidate in the race who was pulling double digits in some races. I personally think that might be illegal, for the party which is to be neutral stating "who the nominee is" before the party delegates have cast their votes and it was officially certified by the Convention Secretary.
And then CNN has a headline, Clinton Will Accept To Be Obama's VP.
NO! Obama's Vice Presidential Candidate.
