During the Vietnam War I was a 3531 Truck Driver that ended up volunteering as a Scout Observer with Golf Company, 2nd Bn, 1st Marines. I was wounded on May 13, 1967 and spent the rest of '67 in the hospital. I was later commissioned in the Marine Corps and spent a total of 28 years in the Marine Corps as an Artillery Officer.
Rush Limbaugh graduated from high school 4 years after I did and could have served in Vietnam if he had been so inclined, but didn't. We had two kinds of men during my generation - those that served in the war and those that found some way out of it. Rush came from that second group.
