Read up on peanut allergies. Some children have gone into anaphylactic shock just from breathing air in a room where there were peanuts. Others have gone into shock from touching a desk at school where someone had previous eaten peanuts or peanut butter, even though there was no visible trace. There is no way to be 100% safe, but when an airline has told you it DOES NOT serve peanuts, it better not.
I understand peanut allergies, but even if the airline doesn’t serve them...another passenger may bring them on board. There are shops in airports for people who have been processed through security. These stores sell candy, peanuts, etc. If someone decides to buy peanuts or a candy bar that contains peanuts, and take them on board the plane, is this woman going to sue that passenger for having peanuts around her son?
Yes, I think people sue over the most ridiculous things these days, but this is a life-threatening allergy and they shouldn’t of promised her it was a peanut free flight if it wasn’t. All they had to do was tell her the truth and she could pick a different flight.
Why is it that no one had any peanut allergies when I was growing up in the 60s?
There were thousands of kids in the various schools I attended, and no one ever complained of dire results from smelling someone’s PB&J!
Sorry, but I think it is a crock. If someone is that delicate, they shouldn’t go in public without wearing a giant condom.
