WASHINGTON (AP) - Hillary Rodham Clinton has told congressional colleagues she would be open to becoming Barack Obama's vice presidential nominee, saying she would consider it if it would help Democrats win the White House. Clinton, a New York senator, made the comment on a conference call with other New York lawmakers Tuesday, according a participant on the call.
The senator's remarks came in response to a question from Democratic Rep. Nydia Velazquez who said she believed the best way for Obama to win over key voting blocs, including Hispanics, would be for him to choose Clinton as his running mate.
"I am open to it," Clinton replied, if it would help the party's prospects in November.
THIS IS A BREAKING NEWS UPDATE

She is open to being VP......as long as she get rid of the ‘V’ in near future date.
LOL, Frasier Seitel (sp?), a PR expert, is absolutely blasting her of FOX.
Isn’t that selfless of her....just like Hillary to be motivated by “the common good.”
I don't know about.
The things you don't like about the ticket doubles.
I think it loses more than it gains.
Actually that would be three windbags (you get two VPs for the price of one) and a fresh set of interns.
I think she wants to discredit Zero-Bama when he chooses someone else and add an "I told you so." if he loses.
Geez, the comments here are shallow.
Obama choosing her sends McCain down to a stunning defeat and probably sweeps the Republican party off the board in November.
My greatest wish is that he is not astute enough to put her on the ticket.
Clinton says if it helps Dems, she’s open to veep...
what does b. HUSSEIN’S racist bride have to say about this????
That is a thing of beauty.
Hey O’bama - Michael Moore will volunteer to get in line just behind you at the Dunkin’ Donuts line, OK?
I agree. This would be a certain loss for the GOP. In which case, I will leave my outrageously high salaried job before January 20 2009 and go into the public sector until taxes come back down.
it would be fun to see the cat fights between Mrs Obama and Hillary.
I see this as a way for Hillary to kind of “stay in the race”, now that the primaries are over. I would guess she will turn over her delegates rather than suspend her campaign for a place on the ticket. Without a firm commitment from Obama campaign on the veep spot, she will suspend, sit back, and watch the Barry and Michelle show unfold.
But knowing the Clinton’s, they plan on much bad press for Barry, and she will step in as the nominee.
NOTHING... if the tape exists and is true...
Power is the only thing (okay, and evil) that feeds her. You're right, she's not about to let Obama have this nite, and it is typical sociopathic Clinton all the way.
Is he really going to want to be saddled with Bill? Rush made an excellent point. On the last night of the convention is Obama going to want to share the stage with Bill when all the spouses come out? I really think he is better off picking a more fresh face.
I am not convinced this ticket wins either. But then, if they should, I don’t think I would shed many tears over McCain losing.
it would be fun to see the cat fights between Mrs Obama and Hillary.
I think it loses more than it gains.
I certainly hope that others are smart enough to see it that way.
