South Korea is currently in chaos over the U.S. beef import issue. It seems that the people are excessively clinging to a domestic issue while failing to see the tsunami headed for the peninsula.

IOW the South Korean media are puffing up a smokescreen of disaffection with the US over a trifling issue.

The local unrest is more about Lee Myung-bak than U.S.. The guy screwed up on many fronts even before this latest fracas. He pissed off so many and his response is always, "I am the president and you are not. Screw you!"

Lee is the guy who would double-cross and burn everybody eventually, foe or friends. Actually he has no friends, only himself.

If anybody in U.S. thought he can do good sweetheart business/political deal with him, he had better rethink. Especially some big U.S. corporations who figure they can pick up some tidy gains in S. Korea from their deals with Lee. He usually writes "a bad check." They will be burned. It is his MO. He write many bad checks and get away with gains. Everybody else loses. It is happening to many of his supporters now.
