To: A.A. Cunningham
Firing, known as dismissal from the clerical state in Canon Law, a priest is like firing a teacher with tenure.

Isn't removing him from his position at the local Church simply an administrative action, that's been advocated before. In fact I believe he was once "transferred", but retained in his current position due to his local popularity. He's been very controversial in Chicago, as have many of Obama's cronies. Now they're getting national exposure, and it's not as friendly.

Right. The Archdiocese can have him transferred.

A transfer to a very rural all-white community that has been without a priest for the last twenty years or so sounds perfect for Pfleger. He’ll have lots of work to do, such as tending to the spiritual needs of a community with whose culture he’ll have to reorient himself.

Yep, he’ll have to go back to doing what he was trained to do; be a priest.
