The Democrat Congress declared a defeat when North Viet Nam invaded with tanks. Congress guaranteed defeat by closing off aid and any US air strikes on the tanks.
Ever since the constant mantra is the war was lost and we should have learned an important lesson. We did learn a lesson--the Democrats are not to be trusted once they decide to declare defeat.
Wait....this was in the Washington Post?! I think a pig just flew by my window.
Copperheads..good name for the current bunch.
This is Bush’s fault!
I saw it too. Did yours have a snowball that said "made in hell" stuck in his mouth?
Yep..that’s the one!
The war in Iraq will expose the democrats as the lowlife losers they really are. It would be a beautiful thing if the actions of the military brought defeat to the democrats.
Amazing.
But then they end the editorial with this: “When Mr. Obama floated his strategy for Iraq last year, the United States appeared doomed to defeat. Now he needs a plan for success.”
As if it doesn’t really matter that Obama misjudged the situation completely. He just needs a new plan for the new situation that is totally different from the old situation, and everything will be fine.
“a relative lull in news coverage and debate about Iraq in recent weeks — which is odd, because May could turn out to have been one of the most important months of the war”
Actually, it’s not odd. Things are going well so the MSM does not want to report on it.
Their new mantra will be... we can't afford it... and the DBM will back them up.
The one I saw was red and was towing a "Ronald Reagan for President" banner.
“relative lull” reporting has dropped 92%!

As Surge Succeeds— Iraq Coverage Declines 92% In One Year
Democracy Project analyzes a recent report published at the American Journalism Review titled: “Whatever Happened to Iraq?”
Network news devoted to Iraq dropped from 23% to 3% (92% decline) compared to last year.

Things must be going really well in Iraq if the Washington Post is advising Barrack to reposition himself so that he can claim that he was for victory all along.

THERE'S BEEN an orchestrated blackout in the Main Stream Media news coverage and debate about Iraq in recent weeks --
There, I fixed it.
So the WaPo is the first member of the liberal media to admit what everyone else has already known for more than a year.
Hold on. Did it say “may” in the editorial?
