This stuff is kind of like “gangsta rap,” only these are Spanish ballads played to a polka beat. The songs are about easy money, women, sticking it to the man, and they're full of plenty of tough guy braggadocio. If you don't speak Spanish they'll sound to you pretty much like any crappy out of tune polka beat music you might hear in Mexican restaurants run by real Mexicans. Watch narcocorrido videos on Youtube though and you'll see plenty of drugs and fat Mexicans with assault rifles and lots of footage of bloody bodies. Elsewhere on the Net you'll find sick narcocorrido videos where they have actual footage of murders, close ups of people being shot in the head. Don't look for those though, you'll see that crap in your sleep. It's quite disturbing.

Thanks for that....I found a couple on YouTube which I thought might get pulled from Free Republic, and so I didn’t try to post them. I think that people who read the article here will get the idea, however, and hopefully won’t be motivated to explore that stuff too much.
Just as I don’t watch ‘rap’ videos because I don’t find them in any way musical and I hate the visual imagery of most of them, I’m not interested in exploring this stuff either.

Life is too short, and filling your neural pathways with this kind of garbage doesn’t help anyone.
