None of this would be happening if it weren’t for the seemingly bottomless American demand for drugs.
And for that reason it appears that a physical barrier coupled with a fully militarized Southern border is going to be the only effective solution, short of a complete change in the Mexican government, from a haven of corruption to one that is more aligned with the mutual long-term interests of our two countries.
