A Matter Of Judgment (Obama, Pfleger and his "former" church--Trinity UCC)
Townhall ^ | May 31, 2008 | Duane R. Patterson

CNN reported this morning, story here, that The Obamas have confirmed they've resigned from Trinity United Church of Christ in the wake of the latest outburst of a sermon, this time by Father Michael Pfleger. While Senator Obama hopes this ends a very nagging problem to his candidacy, the move today raises many more concerns about his judgment.

In Senator Obama's A More Perfect Union speech in Philadelphia last March, the one he later had to walk back from after Jeremiah Wright's National Press Club performance led Obama to quickly disown his pastor, he made a very careful effort to say there was a wonderful new pastor at the church now, Rev. Otis Moss, and that he continued to value the church community.

(VIDEO AT LINK)

Going back to the Pfleger debacle from Trinity last Sunday, look again at the introduction and the wrap-up. Rev. Moss welcomes Pfleger as a brother who has clearly been there before, and then after sitting there and watching Pfleger's racial rant of a sermon, he praises God not only for the message, but the messenger.

(VIDEO AT LINK)

Some of the questions that should be asked of Senator Obama are ones like when does he think that Trinity United Church of Christ changed? Does he believe the church became radical only in the last few weeks? If Senator Obama is as anti-Farrakhan as he stated when he disowned Jeremiah Wright, how could he not know of the church's past and present fondness for Farrakhan? Was Senator Obama aware of Father Pfleger's Farrakhan ties when he orchestrated hundreds of thousands of earmarked dollars to projects run by Pfleger?

As the Democrats finish wrestling with what to do with the Florida and Michigan half-a-delegates, in a move to try and wrap up their contentious primary, you've got to think at least some of the Obama supporters out there have to be extremely concerned that it seems no friend of Obama is above being jettisoned when it becomes politically expedient to do so.

If there is one thing that has been uncovered about the character of Barack Obama during the primary process, it's his questionable judgment. On a micro level, the space under the Obama bus is getting crowded with Jeremiah Wright, former staffer Samantha Power, Father Pfleger, and now, apparently, an entire church. On a macro level, Obama spent all week parsing words, essentially trying to maintain he's willing to meet with any despot around the world with no preconditions, yet he's unwilling to meet with our military leaders in Iraq unless there's a precondition of withdrawal.

The question Americans should be asking as we continue the slow, methodical march to November, doesn't judgment still matter in a president, and hasn't Barack Obama demonstrated that his judgment is flawed at best?

Irrespective of his efforts to duck and cover and move and shake...you can tell a lot about people by the company they keep. You can also tell a lot by the positions they take.

Obama loses and loses badly on both of those counts when it comes to conservatism and traditional American values and constitutional principles.

His own past, his own freely chosen associations are catching up with him. They are associations of years, and decades in some cases. These people are virulently anti-American, admitted domestic terrorists, ardent black liberation adherants, and far leftists like Obama himself. They are not easily, and should not be easily pushed aside.

His positions in the state Senate and in the US Senate are among the most liberal and socialist of any representative in this nation and he espouses them time and again on the campaign trail. He is anti-military, willing to cut research, development, and deployment of weapons systems that keep us head and shoulders above potential enemies, willing to cut and run on the cusp of victory in Iraq, pro-abortion (proudly supporting partial birth and unwilling to even vote against life birth abortion), pro-every social and entitlement program imaginable, will put abject socialists and activist judges on the supreme court, he has not shown one scintilla of evidence of uniting while in office, etc., etc., etc.

I do not care what color or sex he is...it is the associations and stances on the issues he takes which mark him for what he is and that is a far left, socio-marxist politician. His "change" will not be good for America.

IMHO, his associations and his stances as a far left politician mark him as the apex of the domestic enemy in this nation when it comes to traditonal values and constitutional governance.

I will do all in my power to expose him for what he is (and that involves exposing his associations, the ideology and politics of the church he has emmersed himself and his children in, and the stances he takes on issues) and educate people within my own sphere of influence him to wholly reject him because of the damge to this Republic that he represents.

THE AUDACITY OF TRUTH ABOUT BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA

O’Bambi’s so quick at doing the Michael Jackson Moon shuffle or it was called in our last renaissance to failure.
The next generation can’t wait to hop on the train.

Then again ...do they even know what a train is?

They practice the conotations.

Again, without knowledge.

I fear we are raising Mental Midgets.

Tired. Gotta go to bed.

... he continued to value the church community...the same community which would applaud, cheer, and even run up to pat Wright and Pfleger on the back while they were delivering their hate-filled rants? No wonder BO finally had to run for the hills.......

From watching the vids, it appears that Obama was the only member of that church that found the whacko pastor’s comments controversial.

The media will act like they never heard of this church come November.

I guess it was okay for Hussein Obama’s wife and children to hear this trash for years but it’s not okay for us voters to hear it.

John McCain, without question, the most unsatisfactory, liberal, detestable Republican candidate for President in my lifetime, EASILY GETS MY VOTE!!! If it weren’t for the incredibly scary, almost unthinkable prospect of the racist, immature, totally unqualified, pinko-leftist, proto-Marxist Hussein Obama becoming President, I wouldn’t think twice about a write-in vote, or a third party protest vote, but the thought of a repeat of 1992, with even higher stakes, and even more disasterous consequences sends chills up my spine and makes the vote for McCain in fact the ONLY choice.
