Actually, slaves were not given 3/5ths of a vote in the Constitution. They were given no vote. The states in which slavery was practiced were allowed to count a slave as 3/5 of a person for representation purposes in the House of Representatives. Being a crimalien, a/k/a illegal alien, is worth more than being a slave as the Bureau of the Census counts people here, not just citizens!
My take away from this is that the Democrats should not be placed in charge of ANYTHING!

You are technically correct and that is what my wife said this evening.
Nonetheless, the average ‘Rat voter thinks blacks were given 3/5 of a vote. To rub this in in this way relates to them in a language they already speak.

And the people who wanted them counted as 3 fifths were against slavery. It was intended to minimize the power of the slave states in Congress.
Yet it is so often cited as how America mistreated black people.
