Just when one is about to give up on Calyfornicate, something like this happens.
It won’t be easy. Attempt to pass initiatives like this haven’t won at the ballot yet.
I don’t think any abortion restrictions will pass. Parental notification failed in 2005 and 2006. White liberals love abortion. Don’t be surprised to see Arnold campaign against the anti-abortion measures.
The only way the abortion restrictions could pass is if pro-life activists convince Hispanics to support them.
Passage of this measure depends greatly on whether or not the Catholic church puts an onus on their priests to push it during Mass.
How any Catholic can vote for abortion is beyond me.
Many pro-choice Catholics use the “seamless” arguement to cover for abortion. They claim that it is wrong to be a single issue voter and responsible Catholics need to consider the big picture. Abortion rates will decline when everyone is entitled to education, healthcare, and jobs. They rationalize that abortions rose under Reagan and declined under Clinton.
I have a liberal friend who is appalled by the fact that her child could have an abortion without her knowledge—there are a lot of liberal “helicopter parents” in CA who would support this measure I think.
Once liberals marry and have teen daughters who could bleed to death without their knowledge, their opinions about privacy and abortion change a bit.
Could be the same reason the Republicans are losing membership and support big time.
Both these organizations depend on strong membership and giving in order to sustain their operations.
However, IN MY LOWLY RED STATE OPINION both groups have lost or else in the process of loosing their appeal because they are no longer strongly holding true to their base values.
For those pretending to be good Catholics and clandestinely claiming their love for murdering the unborn or as you say Pro-choice Catholics, I would suggest they look into moving membership to the homosexual loving wing of a number of churches.
Churches who love gays such as the United Church of Christ, Presbyterian Church (USA), Episcopal Church and of course The First Church of Lucifer, Satan and Gore.
It's all about money and power.
Those with money got power and those with power will get your money.
Good news about Sarah’s law. Now we need to get it well funded because it’ll be up against a massive assault. I’d like to see it passed.

The “enlighten” Catholics won’t leave. Catholicism is messed in ethnic traditions. Many Irish and Italians feel that they are born into the faith. As a result, they feel the Church needs to adjust to their needs.
