I agree that it makes sense that he folded somewhat, but would he sell himself out for only 75k? His life’s worth for less than a 100 grand and he will be marred like a ink stain for the rest of his life because of this hit piece he signed his name to.

No...I believe he quickly realized that slime was needed to sell his book....he had nothing else to sell...plus he had some scores to settle and decided to vent and be venal.

It wasn’t only for $75K. The author made the point that someone paid a trifling advance has to write something truly explosive to earn more than the advance in royalties. Someone paid a large advance has a lot less incentive to sell books than this guy because they have already been enriched.

He had to have a block buster i.e. An Insider’s Bush basher book.
It cleared explained, because he received such a SMALL AMOUNT UP FRONT... he was under pressure to write the type of book that would sell, if he wanted to make MORE money.
...and apparently that's what his goal was...write a book that would BRING in MORE money.
1) 75K+royalties for borrowing his ex-good name! 2)...for essentially no work, save a few pages of outline material, and going along with 'the lie',which, told often enough will pass media muster as 'the news'!
Meanwhile, McClellan's "fifteen minutes of fame" didn't last as long as a four minute mile...
