Most of the North American Indians were wiped out by European diseases before the first Europeans saw them.

Not an entirely bad thing when you consider some of the native practices such as the Aztec tendency towards human sacrifice and cannibalism...

We must keep the uncontacted tribes in a zoo, preventing them from any contact or improvement. Even though their life expectancy is probably 35 years or less, this is for their own good.

Didn't I see that episode on Star Trek:Voyager?

Seven of Nine and Chakotay crash inside a force field protecting an indigenous tribe from the rest of the planet. When Seven disables the force field in order to get out, the planet's anthropologists descend on the tribe.

They mostly died off in the 1500s and 1600s from the microbes probably brought with the first Spanish explorers.

Why didn't the explorers die off from the microbes the Indians had?

I wouldn’t know. The fact is that the exchange was mostly one-way. I suppose that’s not “fair” but that doesn’t invalidate facts. It might be because Europeans had already been exposed to and immunized by most of the plagues that existed because the reservoir of disease included all of Asia and some of Africa whereas America was a “relatively” small and isolated population.

But we will declare them to be disadvantaged and exempt them from every obligation and expectation and promote them to equality of outcome in every measurable way. And they’ll vote democrat forever.

Why? I am now living in a great Red state. The only people remaining in Kensington are people who are too drunk, drug addicted, stupid, or poor to get out.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

They were immune, having had the disease previously, ( measles, small pox, chicken pox, some flu viruses, mumps, etc) or were ( through genetic selection) resistant to the diseases.

It is likely that our earliest European ancestors had died from these diseases ( such as measles) in a massive way and those who lived to propagate the explorers’ generation were more hardy and more resistant and genetically passes on this trait to their offspring.

Interesting. I wonder where the other 50 uncontacted tribes would be located?

I think one of them may be living in my back yard. At least, that's what I tell code enforcement when they tell me to mow.

Makes one better understand a certain POV on Elian Gonzalez, too!

They had no problem whatsoever trampling on the rights of fatherhood, in order to 'save' him.

It's the same mindset you've described above. No disrespect intended.

I believe on leaving people alone, especially if they are living self-reliant lives.
Why bring them into a world they cannot possibly master? So they end up in slums or on welfare. Then we will complain some more about them.

I would trade all of the “civilization” my money has bought, for the simple life of my great grandfather. Work from dawn to dusk on the land, never any time to think, be neurotic, or worry about abstract things.

It’s not “boobies”. It’s “tribal nudity” -my TV taught me that.
