It’s part of their “dress uniform”.
You posted a picture of their field uniform.

Let's hope that this model of a kaffiyeh does not confuse Ms. Malkin if it gets wrapped around the shoulder. It's issued by the Israeli military.
To: Sub-Driver
I spent five years in the Middle East and I never saw one of them damn rags with fringes on it. I do not believe she was wearing one. However, I could be wrong and I still love MM.
To: MrB
I was thinking it was just a scarf until the leftist piggies started squealing. I think the squealing has to do with an imagined racist conspiracy, as opposed to a defense of Islamofascism.
Malkin seems to think the scarf was sending a political message. ANSWER seems to think the response to the scarf was sending a racist message.
My guess is that they're both wrong and the scarf was just a scarf. Unfortunately, but hilariously, the loonies on both sides are feeding off of each others' paranoia in a self-perpetuating cycle of stupid.

“Dunkin says it was a black and white paisley scarf. Not the checks of the islamo fascist thing...”
It may be, but in the picture it does *look* like one of them whateverthehelltheycallit things. If she wanted to convey scarf she should have picked a big crocheted thing with stripes or something.
Maybe A.N.S.W.E.R. would be happy if they reshot the ad with Rachel wearing a suicide vest?

I saw the ad, it was a scarf around the neck.
Jihadis wear scarfs elsewhere.
