Crane Collapse In Manhattan

MyFoxNY.com -- One person was killed in a crane collapse at a construction site at 354 91st Street near 1st. Avenue in Manhattan.

The Associated Press reports that people have been pulled from the debris.

Fox 5 Assignment Editor Jonathan Cohen was a block away and heard a large rumbling sound.

I saw that!! Iron workers are a steely bunch (pardon the pun) :)
I have always had much respect for the people in that line of work.

Well, actually the cab is mounted to the side of the upright mast, just under the jib, in most cases. But, yeah, way up there is normal.

Never realized that till now.

I thought the driver sat in a cab at the base and guided the thing with the help of a camera.

Pity that's that not right in this case.
