Please watch Newt's video, and sign the petition to reduce our dependence on foreign oil.

Just the threat of drilling for oil would drop the price on a barrel of oil.

re: Just the threat . . .

Amen! I do not consider myself an overly suspicious person, but I really do have to wonder who has what on whom to keep us from doing ANYTHING in 30 years to reduce our dependency on foreign energy sources. Remember Slick Willie declaring land out west with the world's second-largest supply of low sulfur coal, a ‘national monument’ and thereby preventing us from using that coal. The result was that we have to import of coal from a country that was very friendly with the Clintons.

From the prevention of looking for or drilling for new oil sources to the complete blocking of any use of nuclear energy we have shut down our ability to lessen, let alone ween, ourselves from foreign sources of energy.

I am convinced there are those in high places in our government that want us to fall into recession or even depression. I can't for the life of me figure out what's going on.

I've always been partial to:

Screw the caribou! Drill Alaska!

I like what the owner of Fox News said at the press club.

We did not buy Alaska to have a home for caribou.

That’s a catchy slogan; but, drilling ANWR wouldn’t even harm the caribou.

Great, and I agree. But drilling alone is a temporary bandaid and doesn’t solve the real problem, which is that we need to find something besides oil to fuel our economy, and nobody’s serious about that that I can see. Bush talked about transitioning to a hydrogen economy in one of his SOTU speeches, but like so much else from this administration, it was all talk and little action. The Republicans want to drill but have little in the way of any other plans. The Democrats don’t even want to do that. We’re basically screwed.

>"I can't for the life of me figure out what's going on."

Dominance, and submission.

What about the open borders, and the unchecked invasion of poverty?

Same old same old. Make us dependant. Make us subserviant.

Got chipped???

What if the price got soooooo high, we had to ration? The fraud involved would just about cause the public to DEMAND to be chipped. Couple that along with a few OTM terror attacks, and a bank fraud scandal, and we're begging for the mark.

“We’re basically screwed.”

If you think $135/barrel oil is expensive wait ‘till you see what the alternatives cost!!!

Its all about POWER. And you hit it. They intend to do as much damage as they can to screw this country to get what they want...POWER.

Muck it all up..blame the opposition party and then gain complete power to do as they please.

Even if the price did not go down in constant currency, keeping all those millions of dollars in the US would help the real cost and produce a lot of US jobs and economic growth.

Well, it might...if it were a credible threat. With DhimmiRat Libtards in charge, though, that seems unlikely at this point.

Isn’t that two different issues? Shouldn’t that caribou thing be on some other thread?
