Fair warning: I am not a psychiatrist, and the following observation is based upon what I have seen and heard during my own life.
Other than VD and/or unplanned fatherhood, post-pubescent males (ages 16+) who are molested by older female teachers generally suffer no permanent ill effects as a result.
On the other hand, post-pubescent females (ages 16+) who are molested by older male teachers often suffer significant ill effects, including psychological problems, as well as VD and often unplanned pregnancy.
(In both cases, the act itself remains morally wrong, of course.)
Bottom line: young men and young women are psychologically different, and cope with the psychological trauma of being molested by older adults of the opposite sex in different ways. Since older male/younger female molestation causes much more damage to the molestation victim than does older female/younger male molestation, it is more harshly punished under our society’s laws, and is regarded as the act of a cad (at best) by most people.
And it goes without saying that adults of either sex who molest little children deserve nothing but hanging at a rope’s end.
Again: I’m no shrink. This is just my uneducated opinion.
Well, speaking as a male, I’m glad I wasn’t molested by one of my female teachers. All of them were either near-geriatric or shrewishly ugly. I’d have been permanently scarred if they’d had had a go at me. Ugh.
So, you’re telling me that all the molested boys grow up to be good husbands and fathers - not 42-year old teachers who molest their own students.
Do you want to bet real money on that?
I don’t buy the line of reasoning. Michael Medved tries to spout it even worse saying that even same sex male-male and female-female abuse by teachers is better than male-teacher with female-student and his justification is that the girl can get pregnant.
