The Presidency: We're no longer surprised when a longtime confidant of a president comes out with a tell-all book. It's almost de rigueur. What's sad, however, is when so much of what the book tells is, in fact, false.
Even the title "What Happened: Inside the Bush White House and Washington's Culture of Deception" suggests meretricious, tawdry behavior on the part of the White House.
McClellan, recall, was let go in 2006 after working seven years for Bush. He was fired because, to be blunt, he was one of the least effective press aides in recent White House history. In McClellan's defense, it didn't help that he succeeded Ari Fleischer and preceded Tony Snow, two of the best to have ever plied that trade.
One doesn't need to be a fan of President Bush to understand this book is little more than a settling of scores by McClellan, who quite obviously felt abused by the White House.
Nor do you need to support the war on terror to reject this book's central claim that President Bush, Vice President Cheney, Karl Rove and a host of others intentionally misled the nation into fighting an "unnecessary" war. It just ain't so.

I can hear Henry Whacko Waxman now, ‘ It`s the seriousness
of the charges! We will convene hearings on the illegal Bush war.’
Don’t forget that his 25-time divorced fake Republican mother was running against the GOP in Texas for governor at this time as an independent.
Wouldn’t it be interesting if he lied in the book and the plan was to get him in front of Congress to nail the RATS?
scott who? Hey, what ever became of Ari Fleischer?
Guy’s toast. He burnt his bridges, and the left will dump him as soon as Bush is out of office. Unless he makes enough off the book sales, he’ll be working at a MacDonald’s drive through.
In fact Wexler has called for McClellan to appear under oath before the House Judiciary Committee
And she was a democrap before she was a fake Republican.
The ONLY reason we needed to go back to Iraq, Is that they broke the cease-fire agreement.
Climbing on the left bandwagon has just started. The timing of this is so obviously suspicious. Can we still tar and feather someone when they’ve been bad? Guess not, darn it.
Mc Clellan was pathethetic as Bush’s press secretary. Bush probably put him in that job because he, like his father, was a sucker for “reaching out” to the Democrats. Ari Fleischer, his predecessor, and Tony Snow, his successor, were very sharp and well informed. This made Mc Clellan seem particularly clueless in retrospect. So now he write’s a tell-all” book and all of a sudden the same press that kicked this clueless putz around like a soccer ball is hailing him as a credible “insider”
To call McClellan a turncoat is to malign turncoats.
Guess WHO is going to be interviewed- for the first time since the book publicity- tomorrow night, by KEITH OLBERMANN??
Scott McClellan.
I bet all the moonbats are tuning in to watch it
You got that right. He was totally incompetent. It was a pain to watch him getting rolled over. Especially by Helen Thomas
Well, Ive been sitting back and kind of taking this all in and really waiting for him to come out. The fact he is going on KO to me says that this is not serious to him at all. Im actually sick to my stomach by all of this. I cant even watch the news this evening. When are we going to have enough of the media? Both right, left, radio, cable, internet, etc. We are hanging on by a thread!!!
Tonight at dinner, the lovely Mrs. Tick asked me “So what do you think of Scott McClellan”?
I gave her the honest answer: I would strangle him with my bare hands, were it legal and within my power to do so.
What filthy, stinking scum. I hope he rots.
“I would strangle him with my bare hands, were it legal and within my power to do so.”
I own a backhoe and 5 acres....er, I mean if it were legal.
