In 1994, Wilson made illegal immigration a campaign issue. To this day, some elements of the Right still regard WIlson as a hero for being pro-=border security.

Chuck must be from Ose’s campaign. He must have found out that this forum is McClintock territory!

He only did that to keep from being whipped by Jerry "moonbeam" Browns silly sister!!! Don't you remember how they had to wheel him into the Senate Chamber in D.C. on a guerny from the hospital to get his vote to pass the last amnesty law in the late eighties?

Wilson only believes in Party and political expediency! That's all he believes in!!!

Wilson has a distinguished career. He was a Senator, Governor, and Mayor of San Diego, plus he served in the Marines. He should have ran for President in 2000, IMO.

He may not have been a conservative but by CA standards he was. He's certainly more conservative than Schwarzenegger.

What should we expect from a has-been that never was...

One a RINO always a RINO.

Wilson has a distinguished career.

Wilson had a notable career.

A review of Wilson's career shows him neither conservative nor liberal. From rent control, to denial of services, to the largest tax increase in California's history, Wilson jumped aboard any train that would carry him to a retention of political power. He was, and remains, the consummate, political whore.

He should have ran for President in 2000,

Were it not for his whoring, he probably would have. The fall-out from Prop 209 poisoned him at the RNC level.
