principled Republicans (okay 2/3rds with to along with McCain) will revolt, though it will do no good. The party will fracture. The leftist Dem policies will become law and the GOP will get the blame.

That's the argument I've been using with the people I know. McCain will side with the Dems more than the 'principled' pubs.
