I was always told that we were direct descendants of Stephen F. Austin. Then I studied Texas history and discovered that Austin had no direct descendants. So much for Austin being a family name.

nah.... that's only for guys with the FIRST name of Austin...hahahahahahaha. Seems to be a popular name where I live.

That is what made it believable. My grandfather born in Texas in 1875, my father born in Texas in 1911 and now my grandson all have the first name of Austin. Stephen F. Austin never married and had no known children but what if..............
