Pasting addresses:
It works that way sometimes. I find if you paste an address and do not add anything else after it, it will auto link.
Though, sometimes it does not work, then you’ll have to manually link to it.

I'm pretty sure that links will automatically be live if and only if you do NOT use HTML in the same post.

IOW if you hit the enter key for a new paragraph and don't bold or italicize anything, your address will be a link. If you so much as use < p > (w/o spaces of course) for a paragraph, your address will not become a link unless you use the HTML for making it one.
