The genealogy website says Charles W as well. His grandmother was from Augusta though, and Charles E was from there so unless they were cousins, I think his great uncle was Charles E. If not, this story will explode from mistaken on Buchenwald to outright lie. Unless of course the navy liberated the camp with an invasion from the Moselle River.

I’m sure his uncle will love the publicity his (past?)mental problem is getting. Obama can’t help throwing his relatives under the bus.

Over on talkleft.com a guy found a Payne, Charlie L from Kansas who served in the Army. Hard to tell if it's Obama's or not
