On Cape Cod in MA there is a lovely little Italian Restaurant on Route 6A. A few years ago the owner decided to attract attention for his business by putting about 3 or 4 Pink Flamingos on his property by the street. Certain of the elitist towns people become upset about the grossness of this display and asked him to remove the Flamingos. He refused and they took him to court claiming he was devaluing surrounding property and creating an eyesore that detracted from the natural beauty of the area.
Bottom line is the restaurant owner won. The day after the victory he put out another 100 or so Flamingos, and had the newspapers and TV there and also a gazillion people came by to see what the fuss was all about. The publicity was priceless and liberal heads exploded.
It was indeed a thing of beauty to witness.
"over the weekend I planted a pink flamingo in my yard to tweak the HOA and new management company."
You can do better than that. :-)
