I really don’t think that al Qaeda will challenge McCain. He is just crazy enough that his response might not be a measured response. People can criticize George W. Bush for lots of things but Dubya understands how AQ thinks better than his critics do. AQ figured out the math: we knock down two buildings, Bush takes out two governments friendly to AQ. AQ loses big on those exchanges. IMO, that is why we haven’t seen any major terrorist attacks against U.S. interests since 9/11.

General McPeak is just proving what my military friends have always told me: it doesn’t take brains to become a general.

That’s also why the Reagan years were so carefree.

Other countries thought he was a trigger-happy lunatic and minded their manners.

McCain just might be “crazy enough”.

I *like* that in a president.
