The Rick Davis story has been out there for almost a year. McCain is either completely obtuse or totally indebted to lobbyists and smug enough to believe that he can weather the scandal he has produced for himself. The GOP is complicit either by omission or commission. I deeply suspect the latter.

“After a disappointing first-quarter fundraising effort.....”

That's charitable.

In April McCain, the presumptive GOP winner, raised $3 million less than Clinton, the presumptive Democratic loser.

The correct word is “embarrassing” effort, not “disappointing” effort.

McCainiacs, indeed...my vote is on obtuse, indebted, and smug, FWIW.

My hope is McCain is sent hope in November a bitter and broken man, defeated at the polls by a total lack of support by my fellow conservatives.

If he wins he will move the Republican Party left maybe even left of center.

screw mccain.

Lobbying is a perfectly respectable profession. Corruption can happen, but it is not built into the practice by definition as Obambi would have us believe.

Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) built a name for himself fighting to reduce the influence lobbyists have over Washington. Now his 2008 presidential ambitions may rest with a handful of lobbyists.

What hog wash, the man has been in office how many years, tell me one bill he put a hold on and did not approve wasteful pork spending. He has always played the go along to get along game and gave lip service to reducing lobbyists.
