If you increase supply the price of an item goes down. Increasing the supply of Oil would bring the price of Oil down. Since something like 65% of the price of gas is the price of Oil, brining the price of Oil down will reduce the price of gas
IOW I don’t get how the Rats get a pass for leading the charge against the USA.

Yes you do. ;*)
Think of any big city run by democrats, and how those administrations are treated by their local newspapers. Dems are Never blamed for bad ideas resulting in bad outcomes. It is Always someone or something else’s fault. and which usually has a ‘solution’ which requires more money.
How often has that Congressional approval number been mentioned on the dncmedia?
[If we did somehow increase oil production, would we not need to build new refineries?]
Permits have been issued for a new refinery near Yuma, AZ. They do still have a few permits about local construction to obtain but I talked to a spokeswoman Friday and she was certain it would continue. I hope so!
In addition, there is a group looking to build a refinery near Elk Point, SD (about 15 miles from my sis’s house). Locals are being barraged by greenie lies, justt as they were in Arizona. Google “Elk Point Refinery”!
That’s good news. I agree that the current R leadership is only interested in self preservation. This technique will only lead to self destruction.
I'm already here.
Why are they so afraid to answer questions? I want to know what they are hiding from us, we have a right to know.
[Some estimates are 8-10 years with current rules and regs in play from drill to refinery.]
The 1100+ mile Alaska Highway was built much farther south in 1943 (IIRC) in 8 MONTHS.
I wonder if the enviro/rats could get thrown under the bus?Nahhhh.....
Let me point out something unique.
Here in Delaware, not far from my house in fact, we actually DO have a refinery.
Since it already exists, the local citizenry, with some hysterical help from the RINO contingent I might add, are jumping through hoops to SHUT IT DOWN! This charge is led, not that anyone noticed, by a local lawyer....aren’t they always?
Seems there’s a sort of hysterical mindset that this refinery is somehow causing cancer rates in the area to skyrocket.
The local politicos, including the Dems, have commissioned all sorts of studies and so far, beyond some subset of citizens in the ages of 70-80 for some unusual form of cancer or another, there is NO greater incidence of cancer in this area than any damn where else in the U.S.
Interestingly, should anyone choose common sense as an option, this part of Delaware has been populated by an older population; a population which would have higher incidences of cancer not that we should be logical about it.
And don’t forget, mine own congress critter, Mike Castle, is President of Main Street Republicans, a group supported greatly by the fine George Soros. You read this right, Castle is a Republican, Delaware’s ONLY congress critter in the House so small is our state.
Castle voted AGAINST drilling in Anwar. And I’d lay dimes to donuts the average Delawarian, even those in the liberal north, would be quite happy to drill in Anwar. Castle did not represent his constituency....Castle represented HIMSELF!
Which is my argument as to why the pubbies don’t fight back against drilling here in the U.S. because they are financed by oil poohbahs who don’t want US to drill on our own land. We might not buy as much oil from THEM if we had our own oil.
It’s as simple as that. Follow the money. The American people would, if given a chance and after hearing all the pros and cons, probably vote in droves for this country to begin pulling our own oil out of the earth.
So why are the pubbies so silent on the matter?
We got to rid of these guys. THEY are the cancer.
Oh, and now that I think about it, my heart was just fine before I moved near that oil refinery.
Heh.
The Republicans should make a big fuss about how we’re not drilling for more oil, and doing it for the little guy who is hurting.
&&&&&
We don’t even have to stress “the little guy.” Since our entire economy is based on smooth, just-in-time transportation for everything that we expect at our fingertips every day, we all are affected when the costs of transportation go up.
That has much more impact on everyone’s spending every day, while it is not as visible as our own gas fill-ups.
“Some estimates are 8-10 years with current rules and regs in play from drill to refinery.”
And therein lies the problem.
The Enviro-weenies in collusion with the Democrat party have imposed so many regulations on the energy industry that it’s almost impossible to deliver to the consumer the energy they need from our own resources in anything close to a timely manner.
John Conyers (D-MI), Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, who is leading the push, was overheard last week saying: Were closing in on Rove. Someones got to kick his ass. See story--> Conyers: 'We're closing in on Rove'
Totally disgusting. It's all about political payback. It reeks of Stalinism and is completely anti-American. The dems are still bitter about Clinton's impeachment and Gore losing in 2000, and they simply want revenge. Makes me want to vomit!
a charter document of the republicans right now, similar to the Contract With America
Drill our oil;
lower income tax rates to below capitol gain’s rate 15%
The Republicans do not understand political warfare. They break out pie charts when they should be throwing political daggers. “Bush lied, people died” unfortunately works. We should engage in the same type of political combat.....but we don’t. By the way, we are correct on the issues.
The federal government could lease or sell abandoned military bases to companies willing to build new refineries. These bases are pretty large so a refinery would not be an eyesore.
It is one thing to get the oil but we still need new refineries to process that oil into gasoline and for use in other petroleum based products.
Give it to Newt Gingrich. We can then start winning elections!
