Oh well, I tried!!
I noticed. Thanks for your service Senior!
Thank you for your service and your oath sir.
Jane Harmon still trying to pin Hurricane Katrina to Bush, sorry Jane, he wasn’t there to drive one of the buses that should have been evacuating the city of New Orleans, like the local politicians planned but failed to execute.
“Im not so sure the price of gas and oil is as bad as the fact that we are shipping so much wealth out of the country. If we got the dollar half way back energy prices would be low.
What you see at the pump is transfer of wealth.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I noticed something at the gas station last week. The first and most painful was that it was costing me $55 to fill up my tank. The second was that there were so many cars there I had to wait for a pump.
The point is that we are so very well off ... really ... that we can afford high gas prices.
But we see our money going into those tanks and it ticks us off.
That’s why the drive to stop payroll deductions of federal taxes is a good idea. If people had to write quarterly checks, they would be a lot more infuriated at the tax rates.
On Energy Policy, Taxes, Economic Policy, Foreign Policy etc etc etc Obama is Jimmy Carter 2.0
Fits perfect.
I’m a big supporter of the Iraq Vets for Congress and so should everyone on this thread. If you have not visited this website, please do and contribute as much as you can. These are the guys who will make a difference in the House and take up the leadership mantle. If you don’t....please don’t complain after the election. They need your support right now....and that means $$$$$$. Wish it weren’t the case but it is. A $ now is much more important than $2 in October.
Why make the BITS take out the trash, when all of us are still around and motivated enough to make a thorough job of the deal?
JMHO, but ALL of us can take a hit for keeping our heads down ever since they first started telling us not to wear the uniform off base.
Time to call out the brothers and go kick some ass.
Past damn time.
Most of them all ready have. I think that is where Fox finds them.
I love you, really I do. Well, maybe not love, but I like you very much.
But the McCain derangement sickness has become so pervasive on this site that this Sunday show is about the only politcal thread I go to anymore.
It’s like, if someone posts a thread about, say, apples, the McCain haters will figure out a way to use that topic to say something negative about McCain.
McCain was my next to the last choice... the last being Huckabee. Fred was my first.
But McCain is only 30% bad. The others are 110% bad and would cause lasting and irreparable harm to our country.
McCain Promises (and you can choose to think he’s lying - but why? He doesn’t lie - we just wish he would)
Smaller government
Stopping earmarks
Keeping the Bush tax cuts
Appointing conservative judges
Keeping our country safe from outside enemies
Continuing the war in Iraq until we win
He infuriates us by his stand on climate change, but at least he is not for the government doing anything about it.
I don’t care what people think as long as they don’t make some sort of law.
He is not satisfactory on illegal aliens, but at least he now proclaims to be for securing the borders. If we could actually do that (which the dems have no interest in) we would be no worse off in 4 years.
So, I just wish the McCain haters would back off just a little.
Also, they are so gol-darn holier than thou about the realists among us who are going to vote for McCain, and by gosh, crawl over broken glass to do it, to keep Obama out of the White House.
what about Daisey Duke? Did she have a pagent credential?
Miss Fence Post? She must have made a good showing in the Miss Fence Post “Show us your Brains “ category.
I’m speaking about Ainsley, the plastic smiler who goes around showing her teeth all the time, on F&F weekends
There was a small groundswell, oncit upon a time, to have mine own fine self run for governor of Delaware. For these RINOS in this small state can't find a single soul to run for Governor and you should see who they come up with.
Not that I, in any way, would expect to step up and run for Governor out of nowhere. Although Jan Ting...sheesh. Christine O'Donnell ran for Senator as an Independent, you might have seen Christine, a fox pundit. Now the pubbies got a clue and nominated her to run for Senator against Biden although she doesn't have a chance. Nonetheless she did so well running on her own that this time she's got the support of the party.
Anyway, my own self was a PERFECT conservative example of one that the pubbie RINOS in this state should be grooming to run for office. I am female, staunchly conservative, religious, don't have too many skeletons in the closet, speak well, write well, am intelligent and most of all....many, many people in the GOP down in southern Delaware like me.
Of course I had to suck up to Mike Castle, please read my post upthread about this man, the Republican KING of the world here in Delaware. I met the man. I admit I was awed. The RINOS really, really wanted to shut my big mouth up because I was managing to convince people that something was wrong with this picture.
Further, the head of the local GOP told me I would need to put up two million dollars to run for office. I did HAVE, yes I did, the backing of a very influential local business and that owner even got on the phone to the local politicos waxing about my virtues. Sure, they wanted a dog in the race but just so you know I wasn't nobody. That local business even put all kinds of local ads in the GOP fundraiswers.
But the RINOS don't want the likes of me. Up north in Delaware they are so very, very cozy in their offices and they give out free heating oil from Chavez to poor voters, the dead vote twice, sometimes three times, in Wilmington.
Oh, and I'm NOT alone. I see plenty, PLENTY, of devoted conservatives around me, fine folk, male and female, who only want to try and get this soon-to-be-bankrupt state turned in a right direction. And some of then would dearly love to run for an office. They get no encouragement. They get told they need millions of dollars to run. The entrenched are entrenched.
My point being, it's easy to say..."run for an office". Hey, these political elites got it sewed up, locked up, they like it. Not to mention having to suck up to RINOS like Mike Castle who are PART of the problem.
No, it's not impossible. Let me get my heart healed, quadruple bypass surgery from the refinery down the road, and we shall see.
But don't go thinking some upstart out of nowhere will change the political landscape all that easy.
They like their power, witness yer buddy Tom Cole on our TV's trying to justify that pork bill when we should have had a bevy of pubbies lecturing us on our need to drill on our own land.
Just my two cents.
I forgot a couple of McCain positives:
He has a beautiful classy wife who would look good as First Lady, and a very cute daughter and a son in the military. (doesn’t hurt to have a good looking family)
He is pro-life. That’s important to me. I don’t consider babies a curse as Obama has admitted he does.
He’s old. Well, he’s 60 years old (you know, I hope, that 70 is the new 60? It really is)
I am so much younger at my age (don’t ask) than my mother was at the same age and she was healthy.
But he is, in fact, 72, and can hold the fort for four years while we search, hopefully not in vain, for a good conservative.
I might mention our Texas senator John Cornyn.
Because Scooter Libby was tried and convicted basically because he had a bad memory of events that happened years ago.
In such a partisan environment, it would be folly to testify in front of any committee or grand jury, one simple mistake and one could be indicted faster then Chuck Schumer can appear in front of a camera.
