incredible story. it’s stories like this that make me wonder what i would do in that sort of situation. the human will to survive is difficult to surmount. salute to a hero.
Reminds me of a Marine Sgt during the Inchon invasion. He threw a couple grenades in a machine gun pillbox. They came right back out and one was a dud and the other almost killed him. He had one grenade left, so he pulled the pin and stuck his arm into the pillbox holding onto the grenade until it went off.
