Didn’t Jenna say the other day that she might not be voting for McCain? There might be a split in the family on some of these issues.

I believe at least one of Nixon’s daughters said she was planning on voting for Obama. We can’t guarantee that because we are conservative our children will turn out the same, but we still love them.

On the other hand, her statement about McCain may indicate she is *more* conservative than her father.

Yes indeed, that warm trickle you feel running down your leg when you stand next to Jenna must just be the spring rains...

Wow you have BDS pretty bad, maybe time for some meds.

I don't have BDS. I have CDS--Conservative Disgust Syndrome. Digust with a Bush family that never tires of leaning center or left to please liberals.

There is nothing wrong with being friendly and open with gays

Scripture puts it this way: "From such, turn away."

Have any of the children of leading Democrats spoke out for Republicans? Maybe one has, but I cannot recall.

Jenna is a child of privilege, and the Republican Party has been responsible for much of her privilege, going back four generations.

Seems like one of the FDR children endorsed Nixon, but was it 1960 or 1972?

From committing the action ourselves, yes. I'd suggest reading this sermon. It's awfully hard to be a witness for Christ if we do not live among - and maintain relationship with - pre Christians.

If we're to follow Christ, then we are to live among and relate to the unsaved, not hole up and shut ourselves off from society. Live by example, and do not condemn those around us. Tell them what we believe, fine, but do not condemn.

Jesus did not condemn the woman at the well, but told her to go and sin no more. Compassion and kindness - that is how we should witness.

There’s a line between compassion for those trapped by sin and endorsement of the sin, and Jenna skated right on by it.

wishy-washy, yes

naive...uh uh...not by a long shot...they know exactly what they're doing, and they have the patience to wait.

I saw this when it happened! And I was frankly disgusted. It was a huge turning point for me, and I lost most of my respect for Ms. Rice right then and there.

Ellen put her on the spot and Jenna was polite. She did’nt offer anything.

Nothing had to be said, for me. That is exactly the kind of thing anyone can expect when they put themselves in the middle of that type of situation. Why were Jenna and Laura Bush even with Ellen in the first place. That just had disaster written all over it before it even took place.

Very true. I know that from what I have seen of young people in my life, most of them are liberal until they learn better. Especially if they have attended college. The change comes later and is usually gradual.

Isn’t this Jenna’s second appearance on Ellen’s show? She must be a liberal since nobody is forcing her to appear. But why would Laura go on Ellen’s show?

Laura and Jenna have appeared together on several shows. I believe they co-authored a book.

And Jenna has a book of her own to sell.

In my opinion, a lot of this is to sell books and make names for themselves as authors.

A side benefit might be that SOME of the squishy middle in America MIGHT consider voting Republican if they haven’t already decided against it. This is the “soft-sell” approach. I’m not saying Jenna is necessarily into that, but Laura has already said she is voting for “the Republican” in the race.

Finally, to all who are complaining...I don’t know when they scheduled the second appearance on Ellen’s show. It could have been scheduled BEFORE the gay “marriage” thing surfaced recently, and they went ahead with it rather than back out lest they be drawn into the matter.

P.S. What Condi Rice said at the swearing in was indefensible. It guarantees she won’t be on any even mildly conservative ticket, indefinitely.

Which is probably fine with her, if we believe her flat turn-down of the idea.

FYI Only George W Bush was elected to office, not Jenna, not Laura. They have diddly-squat to do with running the country. So it seems a little over the top that you would be picking at Jenna who happens to be a private citizen. But then that is a common symptom of BDS.

This sounds a lot like changing the subject because the defence of Jenna’s conservatism has become inoperative.

Can we all finally concede, regardless of her political influence, that Jenna is certainly not a conservative, and, by the preponderance of evidence, not a Republican?
