Fred a “conservative across the board?” Surely you jest. He was one of the important backers of the McCain-Feingold anti-free speech bill. I heard a conservative expert on the Constitution say that bill is one of the worst attacks on political speech that anyone has come up with in a long time. Thompson also opposed tort reform. Ann Coulter urged everyone not to vote for Thompson for these and a laundry list of other reasons. She backed Romney after Duncan Hunter didn’t pan out. Robert Bork backed Romney as did other conservatives like Rich Lowry, not one of whom is a RINO. I think their judgment and knowledge are a tad better than yours.

Too bad the man they supported is one of the biggest RINO's around.

I think their judgment and knowledge are a tad better than yours.

Apparently it isn't.

Good points. Thompson, though, was probably the most conservative out of the candidates.

And, there is very little conservative about anything Romney did in Massachusetts. To even pretend he is a conservative is delusional, let alone when there are candidates for VP and President in 2012/2016 that really are.

Romney is the one VP candidate that would assure I wouldn't vote for McCain.

Its sad how many alleged conservatives backed Romney. I think that any informed person who backed him has has poor judgment.

There are so many anti conservative things that Romney was in favor of including socialized health care, abortion, government funded elections and outlawing all PACs(outlawing political free speech).
