I was able to find this statement in a January 17, 2007 article, "Prior to law school, Barack Obama worked as an organizer for their affiliates in New York and Chicago. He always has been an ACORN person."
Leftist organizations are all "affiliated."
In New York, Obama worked for The New York Public Interest Research Group (NYPIRG), established by Ralph Nader in the 1970s.
In Chicago, Obama was the director of the Developing Communities Project (DCP) of the Calumet Community Religious Conference (CCRC) in Chicago, and he was on the board of Ayers' Woods Fund.
