I don't know where he got that statistic, but it wasn't from the FBI. They haven't tabulated the 2007 Hate Crimes yet. Or at least, it isn't online. If he meant it doubled between 2005 and 2006, he's wrong. In 2005 there were 722 Hispanic victims of a hate crime (which includes "experiencing intimidation" by the way) and in 2006 there were 819.

That's just so pathetic. It's things like this that make me so angry at Republican administrations that they would allow this practice to continue.
