Hmm...maybe you weren't around for the "McCain, You Traitorous Bastard!" thread. Jim can speak for himself but I'm thinking that lest you come across as too self-righteous there's stuff in this bit of history that maybe you haven't taken into account.
I’m well aware of Jim’s feelings on this and we shared a favorite candidate (Fred Thompson). I also liked Duncan Hunter. However, it became obvious pretty quickly that Thompson wasn’t even really interested in running. We were left with the rest of the field, and I did not think it prudent to attack our own because of the potential consequences (that being we end up with one of the weakest candidates possible). Romney and Guiliani were also seriously flawed, but I just happen to think they were better than McCain by a good margin.
Also, I’m not trying to be confrontational. I may have disagreements with Jim but I know he’s done a great service for the conservative cause. It just struck me as odd he’d be referring to McCain as a “turncoat RINO” (which, byt the way, is a pretty accurate description) seeing as the site (at least to me) had a big influence in giving us McCain as the candidate.
