First, let's get something straight about the people that live in Crown Heights:

Many, if not most of the blacks in Crown Heights did not come to the United States on ships, as they are fairly recent immigrants from the Caribbean and/or Latin America. If anything, they came here on the latest jet airplanes, not slave ships.
