The fire started at about 5:30 a.m. Thursday off Summit Road near Loma Prieta Road in the Felton area of the Santa Cruz mountains." The news people seem to be confused. Loma Prieta is nowhere near Felton. But if the fire has burned from Loma Prieta to the county park, we're talking about a fast fire!

strong winds out of the NW. looks like this started further south than I originally thought it did as well. lots of fuel. They missed Felton by many a country mile.
