So why is this type of talk protected? Seems to me to be a clear cut case of defamation, whether or not it is in print or political speech.
That is just yet one more myth about evil Republicans and the 2000 election. There is not one hint of evidence from any impartial source that Harris did anything improper. It is just assumed that because she is a Republican and served with Jeb Bush as governor that the election must be rigged. Myth created, end of story.

Actually the ‘pubbie” candidate, Dino Rossi, did NOT run with his tail between his legs....rather, sued and ended up losing the lawsuit. He fought a good fight and was screwed. He is running again this year and has a pretty good chance of getting his just rewards.

You think Rossi has a chance to win in a year in which a Demo landslide is expected? I would love to see it but WA has turned pretty far left. Have Gregoire’s ratings not been good? Probably doesn’t even matter since Granholm in MI managed to get reelected in ‘06 by a wide margin despite her state being a big mess.
