maybe just for gophers in Gaithersburg
I just did a Google search and a James L Boka, Maryland comes up as signature 7638 on the Justice for 9/11 Solidarity Petition, a bunch of 9/11 troothers.

I read the headline fast and thought Bill Gaither had gotten arrested for Explosives and Weapons (:o)
People that run RC cars and planes find it harder and harder to get nitromethane.
Who knows what the 46 chemicals were in this case? The article did not say. KNO3, pyro aluminum, sulfur? Was this guy an amateur pyrotechnics type, there are clubs devoted to this, or was he truly dangerous?
I think that the data from Iraq, that roadside bombs can make American newspapers declare defeat, has started to have an impact on American law enforcement.
Soon, most chemicals that could possibly be used to make even the weakest destructive devices will be either banned, or closely watched. I've seen many articles recently about people with “bomb making materials” in trouble with the law.
There are many aspects to civil disarmament, this is one.
Ping.
>> More weapons-related charges are pending.<<
His first mistake was storing this stuff on his own property. An off property cache would make so much more sense if somebody was inclined to do this stuff.
It would be interesting to find out what got the lawmen interested in this guy.
>>Bomb squad investigators recovered over 230 lbs. of 46 different chemicals commonly used to make explosives.<<
I’ll bet if you had the knowledge, what is stashed under the average kitchen sink would make some good bangers.
He’s a bit of a nutjob, but the latest report on the local news here in DC indicated that he was making his own fireworks. There was a similar bust just about a year ago in northern Virginia. That guy had a garage full of homemade fireworks. This guy in Maryland lived in a townhouse and didn’t even consider what would have happened to his neighbors if he had had a Palistinian-style “work accident” with his 230 pounds of chemicals. The guy in Virginia probably would have just blown up half of his own house. This guy could have torched a whole row of homes. Cops had gotten reports of fireworks being set off several times, but the neighbors interviewed were completely surprised by the raid. The reporters made a big deal about the guns, but acknowledged that they were legally possessed (until the arrest, that is). Bozo is spending the night in jail.
