"My advice is to not engage them."

Where's the fun in that? It's fun to watch liberals seethe when confronted with the truth. Think "Ann Coulter". :-)

You are right. It is fun.

But it won’t last and it will probably result in further entrenchment.

Not everything fun is productive or worthwhile.

It is my opinion that engaging the average Modern Liberal is actually counter productive. You are probably having fun at the expense of someone’s emotional attachment. They will most likely resent it and harden their positions.

It is counter productive in the same way that Ann Coulter has been damaging to Conservatism. I say this even though I generally agree with her. Ann Coulter has been confrontational for the sake of the confrontation and at the expense of being persuasive.

Again, my advice:

Politely tell your Modern Liberal friends that you don’t agree with them and that you are NOT interested in foolishness. Deny them your attention, cooperation and involvement. If possible to do it subtly, give them a hint so they know why you are no longer joining them. Find some new friends.

It is just my advice. It is what I do.
