The drug cartels may not have political ambitions, but this is a civil war nonetheless. The question remains whether the Mexican government can impose its will on these criminals, or is it already hopelessly infiltrated with corruption and rot.

Makes me wonder if the bass fishing at Lake Mateos just outside of Culiacan is worth the trip. I usually pack 7-8 rods. Now maybe I wil need to put an RPG in my Bazooka rod case

If this anarchy and violence was happening 3000 miles away the press would be all over it and our government would be looking for UN support to bring it under control.

But since its happening just a short wade away, its being ignored by the MSM and the government.
