Unfortunately the UK is bass ackwards on defamation law. The defendant is considered guilty until proven innocent.

The German government actually legally classifies Scientology as a cult, doesan’t it?

Last I heard the German government doesn't even classify the Church of Scientology as a religious organization, but an economic enterprise with anti-democratic tendencies. It's the "anti-democratic" bit that allows the German government to take action against it and not run afoul of their constitution.

To add to the comments though, I wonder how soon it will be after President Obama comes in that the left will try to censor the web too. People scoff when I say we face a scary future but if we are not careful, these restrictions will happen. Sad to say even the Republican nominee seems to have no problem with curbs on free expression.

Yep, we will be screwed if Obama becomes POTUS. Really, really scary as I am sure he will suddenly be the bigoted black racist Socialist/Liberal/Progressive/Marxist he really is.
