Robert Byrd Endorses Obama
Sen. Robert C. Byrd, a former member of the Ku Klux Klan and a one-time opponent of civil rights legislation, endorsed Barack Obama for the Democratic presidential nomination on Monday.
Obama is vying to be the nation's first black president.
Byrd's support comes almost a week after the Illinois senator's 41-point loss to Hillary Rodham Clinton in the longtime lawmaker's home state of West Virginia.

Follow the money....
This adds all new meaning to hanging chads!
“In other words. Go to he** WV. I don’t care how you voted.”
And WV will reward Byrd by naming another street, building, or whatever after him.

My wife hails from West Virginny. She says there aren't any streets or buildings left that aren't named after Byrd. There are a couple of manhole covers in Huntington and a stop sign in Parkersburg that still aren't named, though.....
Did he drool while making the endorsement.
Did he say, “I’m votin’ for the half-white ni&&er. That’s right, I said it. Half-white ni&&er!”?
I guess racists have to stick together.
Naa, he’s just showing that the party, first, last and forever takes precedence above all else.

Senator Byrd didn’t want to be seen as a racist for withholding his support.
No, he sees the writing on the wall and knows Hillary is doomed. The Superdelegate holdouts are just people who either a) were waiting for the best bid for their vote or b) want to back the winner and not be tainted by having backed the loser. Bird is a master at bringing home pork for his state, and having endorsed the nominee will make that easier if that nominee gets elected.
The fact he endorsed Obama is pretty meaningless when one considers he has overwhelmingly opposed confirmation of African Americans nominated to the bench at a much higher rate than white nominees regardless of political beliefs or experience. His racism isn’t anywhere near gone. He hasn’t changed his beliefs, he just did away with the robes.
Isn’t it ironic...don’t ya think? Ya got an old racist supporting a black fruitcake.

Bet the old Grand Wizard had to swallow deep to do this; pretty, pretty, pretty...
AND in other news, Louis Farrakhan announced that his long awaited bar mitzvah will finally go ahead as planned.
