Pres. Bush has no-one to blame but himself. He thought he could set a “new tone” in DC. But he ended up doing the political equivalent of a fetal position on the floor for 8 years while he was kicked at from all sides. All the time he should have been fighting back - hard, dirty, and brutal.

I'm really tired of wimpy republicans but it looks like we're going to get more of the same.

Wrong. President Bush isn’t a talking head, so he didn’t waste precious time fighting every slur that came his way. He has held firm on his key beliefs and has accomplished more than many Presidents could hope to (I think some Freeper compiled an amazing list a while back).

As someone pointed out here recently, for example, who would have thought Schroeder and Chirac would meet their downfall during a “cowboy” Presidency? Yet they’re gone, and their replacements are downright pro-American compared to them.

Politics and professional sports are similar, I think the fans care a lot more than the players.

Bush did a HORRIBLE job of selling the War on Terror, never stood on message, while allowing himself to be savaged daily with no response.

It doesn’t take a genius to know there is no need to invite Teddy Kennedy to Movie Night. He will stab you in the back no matter what you do, how could HE not know who he’s playing against?

Him and his father have done everything they can to resurrect and legitimatize the vile vermin known as William Jefferson Clinton, instead of rightfully marginalizing him.

The Bush family has a wonderful life and all of their decisions to increase government will never have an effect on 100 generations of THEIR families, only ours, and does he care for or fight for our rights, no.

How can I defend a man who REFUSES to defend himself, he whistles merrily along while the party goes down the toilet, some figurehead.

BUMP what you said.

I proudly voted for Dubya twice, but that doesn’t stop me from feeling disgusted at his willingness to sit there like a punching bag for his entire Presidency. There was just never any fight.

His tax cuts and judge appointments were mostly excellent, and that means a lot, and his guts in finally doing what the Sinkmeister refused to do - - go after the terrrorists - - will make him a hero to history. On the other hand, his decision to ultimately leave the conduct of the war on terror in the hands of lawyers was a disgrace.

Basically, when you think of what COULD HAVE BEEN with a Republican President and healthy majorities in Congress, all you can do now is shake your head.

Absolutely. He never fought back and the RATS just kept hammering away. People who went overseas to bash this country should have had their passports revoked.
