Texas sect parents complain of vague custody plans
Fort Worth Star-Telegram ^ | Mon, May. 19, 2008 | MICHELLE ROBERTS

Posted on 05/19/2008 5:15:16 PM PDT by Soliton

Donna Guion, an attorney for the mother of a 6-year-old son of the sect's jailed prophet, Warren Jeffs, complained the plans were so vague they would be impossible to satisfy and were contingent on psychological evaluations likely to take weeks more to complete.

"This plan is so vague and so broad that my client has no idea what she can do now," Guion said of the boy's mother.

In this regard, Children’s services are like the police or sheriff: all three regarded as arms of the court. So your fault with this won’t hold water in any court.

Others lived as traditional nuclear families in their own housing on the ranch.

Oh puhleeeeze! They lived in families that worshipped a child rapist, and believed and taught their children that if daddy didn't get assigned at least 2 more wives by the "prophet" that the whole family would rot in hell. Some "traditional nuclear family".

Your view of the role of judges is dangerously skewed. If you know of any Texas district court judges who regard CPS as an “arm of the court” let me know an I will report them to the Texas State Commission on Judicial Conduct

When I am appointed/requested by the court as an expert witness and asked to evaluate someone—I am serving as an arm of the court. The prosecutor does the direct questioning while the defense does the cross. This is the same as it is for police, sheriff, and children’s services. I don’t see why you find it out of the ordinary—perhaps you could explain the facts that lead you to this.

The attorneys are “officers of the court” and bound by certain rules (supposedly) of ethics and conduct regarding their profession as well as the judge. No one else is (maybe a bailiff). Anyone else has penalties like perjury etc. they are not part of the “court”. Whatever you were appointed to do or evaluate does not make you part of the court just some form of witness (as best as I can tell from your post).

Don’t start. Anyone who excuses what was happening out there is an advocate for child rape and abuse/mind control of women and children.

Oh, I'm sorry, I forgot, you told us Don’t post something stupid back to me

Well, since you asked that someone point out the abuse, I’ll oblige. There is the abuse of the taxpayer to maintain these ‘nuclear families’. It might be hard to prove sexual abuse of minors, but that the ‘spiritual wives’ are filing for benefits for their offspring is a documented fact. That’s abuse of trust, our trust.

Children’s services has awesome power via state statutes. By all means parents need their own attorney(s) to protect what little rights they have in matters such as these, but the laws are strictly for the kids and not for the parents.

Guess I didn't need to say that, it already had been said!!!

Officers of the court is a different colored horse.

On the stand, we (expert witness requested by the court, police, sheriff, children's services) are all prosecutor witnesses. And, also, the court directs each to perform specific duties for the court and, as such, are serving as an arm of the court---and not the defense.

Sounds like somebody's going to jail, then.

are you ready to go into the Muslim community’s where they believe in polygamy and arranged marriages of girls at even younger ages than the flds (like Mohammad). They allso believe in female genitalia mutilation and of course that wonderful tradition of killing your daughter for dating the wrong guy or wearing the wrong cloths.Or are these laws and social norms to be used selectively against certain groups or people of certain beliefs??? remember they use them against the flds today, who will they use them against tomorrow??

The investigators learn that one Sarah who has been at the ranch is 16 and has a baby, the supervisor said. The girls being interviewed have seen her the past week at the ranch but don't know where she is.

This should read "the investigators allegedly learn". It is a known fact that some of the calls from "Sarah" came from a number used by the Colorado hoaxer. The search for the missing "Sarah" is just an attempt to avoid the cases being thrown out for lack of probable cause.

Do a google for “foster parent accused of sexual assault”. You get 159,000 hits. I look at the first 20 or so in detail and skimmed through headlines and dates of many more. We are looking thousands of unique cases. This doesn’t include physical or emotional cases, and cases of pure neglect.
