Good article. I admire Col. North very much. I’ve listened to some of the “War Stories” books on tape, and I’m always amazed at what our soldiers accomplish.

“This Marine pleads guilty to nothing!”

I do not question the above quote, however, I have always remembered Col North’s repeated use of the words, “Not This Marine.”

Perhaps the above writer is referring to the same phrase used by North; or possibly it is just another quote altogether.
In any case, I have never been able to pinpoint a solid reference/source document for North’s use of...”not this Marine.” Should anyone see this and have a good reference for it, I would appreciate your pointing me to it.

North grabbed two handy Marines and asked them on camera if they were hungry, thirsty, or short on ammo. They replied that they weren’t and he asked them if there was anything they did need. One Marine responded, “Send more enemy, sir.”
