Stuff like this never happened to Hydrox. I think they recently stopped making Hydrox because Oreo had such a huge market share, it wasn't worth it.

I have read that Hydrox cookie crumbs are still included with Carvel ice cream. The historical alliance has to do with Hydrox being kosher, and Nabisco often using animal products (lard, in bygone days), rendering it unsuitable for observant Jews.
